Great play that brought out the "actor" in the students!
The True Story of Hey Diddle Diddle was a great play for my 6th grade students. They connected to the script and characters, and everyone loved the humor! These 6th graders participated in a nursery rhyme parade when they were in Pre-K, so it was a nostalgic way to end their time at the school before they move on. Highly recommend!

Great laughs for all ages!
We did this play with our middle school performers -- 37 in all -- and it was a blast from beginning to end!  For some, it was their first stage experience, and the script gave them the opportunity to explore a simple role, while our more veteran students were able to dig into bigger characters and responsibilities.

Staging was simple and props were mostly created with foam core -- kids were involved in this process as well.  Costumes were brightly-colored t-shirts backed by our black drapes, so they "popped" from the stage.

The story was light and fun!  Parents and children of all ages reacted to the humor and each storyline was creative.  We were able to put the show together in 10 rehearsals with the episodic structure.  Highly recommend!

The flexibility in this play is AMAZING!
This was the first play our school had done in several years, and it was a perfect one to reignite interest in theatre. Our show was produced as part of a required drama elective, so I appreciated the flexibility in dividing the roles among 12 actors in the class, each with varying interest and ability.

This play was also worked perfectly on a curtainless, small stage and could easily be adapted to any stage setting. We kept costumes and props very minimal, but again, there is room to go as elaborate as desired.

This play was a perfect fit for the audience as well. Given the dynamic of the actors' families, we knew our audience would range from very young children to adults, and everyone found lots of opportunities to laugh.
