These are just a few of the stories of love lost and found in “A Day of Dreaming.” We meet young people with powerful dreams which they write in a Dream Journal that is nestled in a covered bridge (which exists today in Winterset, Iowa). There is always the hope that if they write down their dreams, they will come to fruition. The stories run the gamut of forging new connections to tough goodbyes. There is the silly (star-crossed lovers who can only speak to each other in song titles), the poignant (high school sweethearts say goodbye), and the quirky (can a leprechaun catch a unicorn?). Tying the stories together is the love story of Charlie and Dancie whose love lasts to the great beyond. The play will take you on a magical mystery tour filled with intrigue, tenderness, and sweetness sprinkled with spice. Running time: 65-75 minutes.
urn:store:1:newProducts:product:9933 https://www.histage.com/the-cop-and-the-anthem The Cop and the Anthem
Three hobos gather in New York City in the early 1900s. Winter is approaching, and they hatch a plan to get themselves arrested so they can winter in jail, where at least they will have a warm bed and three squares a day. They proceed with multiple attempts to get themselves nabbed, but each attempt fails for one reason or another. Dejected, they wander the streets until they come to a church where they hear a Christmas hymn playing. The beauty of the scene and the power of the music prompts them to pledge to reform their lives and start afresh—and it’s at that moment they are arrested and sentenced to jail for vagrancy. A one-act play full of inspirational drollery and playful irony for 30 actors, or, with doubling, as few as 18. All the parts can be played by either male or female actors.
urn:store:1:newProducts:product:9928 https://www.histage.com/alice-and-the-rabbits-of-wonderland Alice and the Rabbits of Wonderland

This show is a celebration of the works of Lewis Carroll. All the classic characters that audiences expect are featured including the Red and White Queens, Humpty Dumpty, the Cheshire Cat, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and the talking Flowers. Additionally, the Borogoves give an added layer of poetry by Lewis Carroll from his other works. The script is extremely faithful to Carroll’s original novel, oftentimes using his exact wording, yet the twist of following our rabbit heroes gives a refreshing new take on this classic tale.

When Alice becomes trapped in a game of chess, five rabbits swoop in to save her. Between solving riddles and fending off the evildoers of Wonderland, it is up to our rabbit team to keep little Alice safe. However, the risks are higher than Alice ever imagined. When the Chesire Cat attempts to steal Alice’s sense, it is revealed that all humans who lose a chess game in Wonderland become rabbits forever. The Black Rabbit plans to get Alice, a pawn, to the eighth square thus promoting her to a queen and hopefully taking her out of the game. Meanwhile, the Brown Rabbit must make a choice: help the Cheshire Cat steal Alice’s sense to turn himself human again, or help Alice win the game and her freedom. Black Rabbit’s plan falls apart when they reach the eighth square only for Alice to be whisked away to the palace. The dream suddenly ends when Alice takes the Red Queen, the White Army wins, and Black Rabbit puts an end to the Cheshire Cat. In the end, to the relief of the rabbits, Alice wakes up at home safe and sound. About 90 minutes.

urn:store:1:newProducts:product:9921 https://www.histage.com/crossing-over Crossing Over
Six current-day ghost hunters set out to find the truth in the murder legend of Vinney Keller, a naïve teenager who was found dead in her farmhouse cellar in 1903. Historical opinion places the blame on the Keller’s hired hand: Enos Patchett, a lumbering, illiterate man in his 40s, who was with the Keller family for years. But there were other suspects as well. The ghost hunters hope to contact Vinney’s spirit to find out the real story. But for some of the hunters, truth is secondary to hyping their methods and results to increase their media popularity and TV opportunities. Soon the hunters find themselves mired in miscommunication between the living and the dead, the literal ghosts of the past who are determined to set the story straight.
urn:store:1:newProducts:product:9903 https://www.histage.com/out-of-the-woods Out of the Woods
A group of students enrolled in a technology-free wilderness camp find themselves lost in the middle of the woods. As darkness falls, a mysterious counselor that wasn’t introduced at orientation finds the students and sets up camp with them (“Backwoods Ranger”). Around the campfire, the students and counselor share ghost stories and tales of the mysterious creatures of the forest (“Sasquatch’s Lament” and “Chupacabra”). But not all creatures are big and scary. Gnomes also appear and sing that they are guardians of the woods. Will they ever get out of the woods? (“I Miss My Home”). When the real counselors finally locate the kids and everyone leaves, the creatures can celebrate (“Party in the Forest”).
