PLAYWRIGHT ANDREW M. FRODAHL TALKS ABOUT HIS PLAY
ROY & RITA’S RIDICULOUS REMODEL
Q: WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO WRITE THIS PLAY?
A: I have worked construction for over fifteen years and been on plenty of remodel projects.
Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART OR LINE IN THE PLAY? Why?
A: When SPECS arrives, and threatens to shut it all down. The play reaches the tipping point.
Q: WHERE DID THE CHARACTERS COME FROM?
A: Having worked in the profession for over 15 years I have met plenty of characters in this business. Many are inspired from them. Are they based on people you know? A couple are based on people I have worked with. Charlie the plumber and Mark Hand are very true to their real-life counterparts.
Q: WHAT DID YOU TRY TO ACHIEVE WITH THIS PLAY?
A: There are dangers in trying to do too much.
Q: DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD?
A: Home Improvement shows are not always what they seem.
