EDDIE COPE was a Houston playwright and journalist with a playful sense of humor, and with his fondness for outrageous puns, wrote more than 30 lighthearted comedies, mysteries and melodramas for community theatre. Upon his death in 2009 at age 96, the Houston theatre community praised Cope as a local institution and an inspiration. His plays have been produced across the country and overseas. He was a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, the Texas Non-Profit Theatre Association and Scriptwriters/ Houston.
