CARL L. WILLIAMS is a Houston playwright who has had many of his full-length and one-act plays produced, often as the result of winning competitions. "When Bullfrogs Sing Opera" won the 2001 McLaren Memorial Comedy Play Writing Competition at the Midland (TX) Community Theater. Besides winning a variety of national contests with subsequent productions ranging from California to New York, he has been a finalist in many other prestigious competitions, including the National Ten-Minute Play Contest at the Actors Theatre of Louisville. His first published play with Eldridge, the melodrama the "Girl in the Tutu, or the Villain Kept Her on Her Toes," was written in collaboration with Eddie Cope, another a Houston-based playwright.
